Beirut 1982. To reach his fiancée, Gabriel, 20, has to cross a bridge guarded by numerous snipers. All the city is waiting for tonight’s opening match of the 1982 football world cup. Will the snipers be watching the game and allow Gabriel and his friend Mokhtar to cross the bridge in their old Plymouth?

The film is adapted from two short novels of Alexandre Najjar from “L’école de la guerre”, Balland, 1999 (ISBN 2-7103-2844-5); La Table ronde,n°242. Available in English under the title : The School of war (Telegram).
